Lesson Three
Here are some web sites on You Tube to look at. Copy and paste these into
your browser. When you see these, you will find many others you might wish
to look at - these particular videos are the ones I found interesting -
especially the one with William Vennard.
1. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2N5q85G3ydk
- some very good basic stuff on this video
2.
This is the famous William Vennard video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=204cBDG4fhU
3. this is very loud, and the speaker has a very annoying
voice, but it's worth watching https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rSWqDMBX37Q
4. Here’s the video on
the cartilages of the larynx
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z3S2dD9BrSY
These Kenhub videos
are very good, you might make note and look at some of the others that
deal with the larynx
6. 4 vocal cords singing
together - from the inside -
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-XGds2GAvGQ
7.
In this video, notice how phlegm contributes to some of the really
exotically
weird noises
8. The "formant" - a pitch area (not an exact pitch) from
Wikipedia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formant
Study these and ask questions in class - there are some very interesting
things for you to look at and understand.
Find a good diagram of the vocal tract on line and bring it to class.
